We are very pleased to announce that our founder of Zinda Foods, Anishya Kumar, has reached the finals in the Businesswoman of the Year at The 7th  British Indian Awards.  Anishya reached the finals through nominations from the public – which is a great honour.

Some of the top professionals and businesses from the British Indian Community are recognised for their ingenuity and achievements in these awards. The finalists were announced on 9th July 2019.

Anishya will find out if she will collect an accolade at the elegant ceremony held on July 26th.  “At the start I didn’t have any investors or source of funds, I just took out two bank loans,” Anishya said. “People thought that I was mad and would never be able to do it, but everything is a risk and I’d rather take on the risk myself than get someone else on board when I didn’t know if it was going to work or not.”

“Being nominated by the public for Businesswoman of The Year is very humbling for me”, said Anishya

The British Indian Awards 2019 showcase the strength of the British Indian community, the impact they have on British culture and their progression over the last year. They are organised by Oceanic Consulting – the UK’s leading ethnic awards company. CEO Irfan Younis said “All finalists should be proud to represent British Indians, highlighting all the wonderful achievements of this diverse and brilliant community. Our finalist list is full of talent and leadership, and I’m confident these awards will be the best yet. The awards provide a platform to thank those who do what they know best, thrive in their fields and provide future generations with inspirational role-models.”

Anishya relocated to the UK 13 years ago from Bombay giving up her corporate consulting life to pursue her passion and dream of becoming a food entrepreneur. With just a meagre £200 in a home kitchen, Zinda Foods moved into their own BRC Accredited premises in 2017. We now produce 12,000 wraps a week for over 90 Tesco stores and employ 12 staff. Our company has seen a growth of 9 times since the last quarter & is set to expand further.

We are keeping our fingers crossed for the announcement on 26th July, so please watch this space.
